Free 3MF Viewer Online
Drop a 3MF file below to turn it, zoom in, and check its triangle count and size. It all happens in your browser, so your file is never uploaded.
Your files never leave your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
What is a 3MF file?
3MF is a 3D printing format from the 3MF Consortium. It is a zip file that holds the model as XML. Unlike STL, it states its unit, and it can hold colors and several parts.
PrusaSlicer, Cura, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, Windows 3D Builder, and many CAD apps can save 3MF.
A 3MF from a slicer may hold a whole build plate with several parts. All of them open together.
How to view a 3MF file
Drop the 3MF file on the viewer above, or choose it from your device. The model opens in a moment and fills the frame.
Drag to orbit around your 3MF model, and scroll or pinch to zoom. The Corner, Front, Side, and Top buttons jump to a standard view.
Shaded shows the colors stored in the file, so a multicolor model keeps its colors. The viewer stands 3MF models on the Z axis, like CAD tools and slicers. If a part lies on its side, press Turn upright.
Reading a 3MF
A 3MF states its own unit, such as millimeters or inches. The viewer does not convert it. It shows the size in the file's own numbers with that unit beside them, so a part that reads 80 mm is 80 mm wide.
Print settings, supports, and slicer notes inside the file are not shown. The viewer reads shapes and colors only.
A build plate can hold parts that sit apart, touch, or overlap. Turn the model to spot parts that float or collide, which a slicer may treat differently from what you expect.
To share the model with someone who has no slicer, use the 3MF to GLB converter. To print on a machine whose software reads only STL, use the 3MF to STL converter.
What the numbers mean
The triangle count shows how detailed the surface is. More triangles mean more work for the device that draws the model, so a model that turns slowly may need a lighter export.
The size is the width, height, and depth of the box around the model. The size is shown in the unit the 3MF states, which is usually millimeters.
Fixing common problems
Print settings stored in the file are ignored. Only the model's shapes and colors are read.
If the file holds a whole build plate, every part on it is read and converted.
Files over 150 MB are not opened. Export just the part you need.
If you see a message about 3D, your browser may have WebGL turned off. Try another browser, or turn on hardware acceleration in the browser settings.
Your file stays on your device
The viewer reads your 3MF file in the browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the page does not load anything the file points to. The page counts a visit like any other page, but it never sees the file's name or contents.
From a viewer to a finished render
A viewer shows you the model. A render shows you how it could look built. The Inkfinish studio opens 3MF files too, lets you pick the angle, and turns that view into a finished image from a short description of materials and light.
Questions
Is this 3MF viewer free, and is my file uploaded?
It is free, and you do not need an account. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded, so it stays on your device.
Does the viewer show the colors in my 3MF?
Base colors set on parts and colors stored on the vertices are shown. Color painting that a slicer keeps in its own extra data is not.
What unit is the size in?
The unit the file states, with no conversion. Most 3MF files are in millimeters. If the file names a unit the viewer does not list, such as microns, the size is shown as plain numbers.
Can I open a 3MF saved by a slicer?
Yes. Its shapes and colors are read. Print settings and other slicer data inside the file are ignored.
How large a file can I open?
Files up to 150 MB. A very large model may open slowly on a phone or an older computer, so export only the part you need if it struggles.
What does the triangle count tell me?
It is the number of triangles that make up the model's surfaces. A higher count means more detail and more work for the device that draws it.

Make it a finished render
Open the studio and add your 3MF file. The studio opens GLB, glTF, OBJ, FBX, STL, 3MF, or DAE files. You pick the angle and describe the finish, and Inkfinish renders that view as a finished image.
